I’m kicking around the idea of another photo a day project for 2009. It’s a difficult project, but the collection of photos at the end is worth it … I think. I’m thinking I may shorten it for myself, however, by half. So kind of like a photo every other day. I’d give myself 2 days to take a photo rather than force myself to take one every day.
In 2005, I took a picture a day for almost all 365 days … close enough to call the project a success anyway. Doing it again would be a good way to track Abi’s growth. Also, it helps me remember all the fun stuff I did when I reflect back.
My problem at the moment is deciding how to display the images. My options are as follows:
- Use this website – problem with that is the project gets mixed in with other posts and may be forgotten.
- Create another website – problem is no one would go to it.
- Flickr – I like Flickr and the images would get more exposure, but I’m not sure I want to start putting images somewhere else on the web besides where I’m already putting them.
- Facebook – This would give my friends the most exposure, but facebook destroys image quality and so isn’t really an option (not to mention the 600 pixel size limit)
I’m not sure what to do. None of the options are very good.

Ok, so it seems my new “milo jumps on every bus that goes by” item is chess. I don’t remember who taught me to play chess, but I used to play some a bunch of years ago. I recently found out that facebook has a chess app. – and I’ve been hooked ever since. Back at the end of August I started playing again (only online now, I had never done that before). I’ve now played 65 matches thru facebook and 10 thru www.chess.com (which is the website that created the facebook app). You’d think after 75 matches I’d be pretty good, but sadly that isn’t exactly true – but who cares, I love playing.
Anyway, I’ve bought myself a travel chess set to play against buddies when I go over to thier houses and I’ve also bought myself a home set, it looks like this (photo not by me):

I just ordered them, so I probably won’t get them for a week or so. Wanna come over and play chess?

If you’re here for the first time cuz you saw the new page I created over on facebook … welcome! Please have a look around. I recommend the photo gallery for hours of pure enjoyment (let all the thumbnails load on a particular page before clicking on them, this is so the “black background image viewer” can load).
If you’re here cuz you always come here wondering if I’ve actually posted something. Well … you’re in luck … I’ve posted something.
