It’s a sad day at the Milo house. Both Jessamyn and are paying money to lose weight. The formula is so simple, burn more calories than you take in, but it seems we need help doing that. I just finished signing up for Weight Watchers for Men Online. Over the next 3 months, the goal is to go from my current 160 – down to 145. Hopefully, my 5K training is going to be a big help – but one week into my “official training” – I haven’t lost a single pound (actually gained 2 pounds). The website is giving me 28 points per day – should be pretty do-able … I’ll keep you posted.

Ugh – I’m going to sign up in a few minutes and I’m pretty sure I will only get 21 points… Not right…
I think I started at 28 points and after I lost some weight it dropped down to 25? points. At first I liked counting the points. The first 12 pounds (I lost 20 all together) came off pretty easily but mostly 1/2 pound to a pound at a time, but steadily.
I thought it was important to go to the weekly meeting, even though most of the time I was the only man. It kept me motivated. I also only weighed in at the meeting — never at home; day-to-day flucuations only serve to frustrate you.
I also found the food scale that weight watchers sell to be useful.
Good luck.
Jessamyn has had to talk me down from the ledge a couple times already regarding not knowing EXACTLY how many points my meal was. That’s the most frustrating part for me.
You guys need to be sure this a way of life. The only “diets” that continue to work are the ones that are ones you can live with. If you don’t see yourself doing it permently you will only have a temporary loss. Keep up the great work with the running! You will see results with that. God Bless!!!!!
thanks Mary
