Say hello to my new little friend. According to UPS, it’ll be here on my desk in about 3 hours or so. The lens weighs a whopping 2 pounds which doesn’t sound like much until you pick it up. I sold almost all of my lenses in order to purchase it, so hopefully I’ll be pleased. It’s one of Canon’s most loved lenses. Excellent for events, portraits, landscapes, even close-up stuff. I can’t wait.

The camera is the upgrade to the camera I already own. It’s not exactly what I want, but it’ll do until the day I’m rich enough to buy the camera that I really want (current price for the Canon 5D is $3000.00).

Pro and I are going to 2 weddings this weekend, so I hope it’s ready to run straight out of the box. There have been reports of some bad copies of this lens (that don’t focus properly) – keep your fingers crossed
