OK, I’ve deleted by photoblog over at www.blogger.com and switched everything over to my own server space. I like the layout of pixelpost MUCH better and a database is needed to run pixelpost, so I had to switch things. I plan to upload at least one photo every day. That photo may be new or old or really old and scanned or whatever. I’m hoping Jessamyn will follow suit and let me make her one, but I’m not sure if she’s onboard with the “only one image showing at a time” type of photoblog. I love it, myself, but it’s not what she’s used to.
Also, you’ll notice the pictures on my new blog are huge. I like it that way. If you’re unable to view the whole image cuz your screen’s too small … buy a bigger monitor

As with everything I do, I’ve started to get a little bored with the manner in which I display my photography. I can explain what I want (not now), but I can’t seem to actually accomplish what I want. A big part of the problem is that the type of photography I want to display is not the type of photography that I frequently take. Street photography really requires a large city (it’s easier, at least).
This website is good because it keeps our friends and family up to date regarding the mundane, but it’s 100% terrible for a personal online fine art display. I need something else.
Doesn’t matter. I say all that only to say that I’ve been researching other photoblogs on the internet. What I like, don’t like, cool looks, cool images, sizes that give the most impact, etc. In my moveless travelling I’ve come across this website. It rates photo blogs and gives out awards. Freakin’ awesome resource if you’re into looking at pictures. Go check it out.

All That is Gold Does Not Glitter
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
JRR Tolkien
